I keep in the most precious corner of my head this preoccupation, series of drawings using printed fragments with tracing paper and graphite.
My works on paper span expressive drawing, mark-making, collage, graphite rubbings, monoprints, and collographs. Many begin with discarded fragments from my father’s long abandoned shed - materials which, for me, are imbued with touch and memory. I repurpose and reimagine discarded papers from the shed floor, take rubbings from slate pieces lettercut with favourite sayings, and create monoprints from the tiniest fragments of hair and materials. I work in series, with each exploring how lives are remembered through touch, material presence, and the things we pass between us
